Over the past few months, New Women New Yorkers has kept busy with outreach events, LEAD Program workshops, field trips around New York City, picnics, and even a fashion show. The volunteers who work with NWNY are dedicated to helping young women immigrants integrate into city life and follow their dreams. Here a few photos of participants and volunteers spreading the word about NWNY throughout Summer 2016.
On June 29, the LEAD Program hosted a workshop on public speaking, teamwork, and American workplace culture for Hot Bread Kitchen bakers in training.
During a July 26 field trip in NYC’s West Chelsea, LEAD graduates and other young immigrant women toured the Koenig & Clinton, Jack Shainman, and Ricco Maresca galleries.

On August 7, NWNY hosted a picnic in Brooklyn Bridge Park, so LEAD graduates and volunteers could bid farewell to Mia, former LEAD Program Coordinator.
To spread the word about NWNY, volunteers Jess, Katie, and Maria (left to right) handed out fliers in NYC’s Chinatown on August 21.
During a September 10 Meetup for young immigrant women at Fort Greene Park, attendees discussed parenting and child development, and how to handle stress and time management while living in NY.
