A statement from New Women New Yorkers
Like so many others, we are shocked and distraught by the appalling killing of George Floyd, which exposed, once again, the pervasive racism and inequality that plagues our society.
As an organization dedicated to the inclusion and equality of immigrant women, New Women New Yorkers stands against racism, prejudice, and violence in all forms. We are a better society when all people, regardless of gender, race, country of origin and ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status, collaborate and learn from one another.
Through education and positive action, and with authenticity and integrity, we remain committed to being an agent of positive change for New York City’s immigrant communities, and we pledge to support the structural changes needed to build a future where Black communities and people of color are treated with fairness, dignity, and respect. We at New Women New Yorkers wholeheartedly join the concert of voices calling for justice, equality, and unity.
